Biography of Mahesh Babu
Ghattamaneni Mahesh Babu, popular as 'Prince' Mahesh Babu is fondly known as the Prince of Tollywood. He is the son of Tollywood actor Super Star Krishna and Indira Devi. Mahesh Babu was born on August 9, 1975. His father Krishna was in Chennai acting in the movie Gaajula Kishtayya when he was born. He was in movies since his childhood.Later he decided to take a break to concentrate on studies. Most of his education happened in Chennai.
After finishing his B.Com from the famous Loyola College in Chennai, Mahesh Babu made a debut as hero with the film Rajakumarudu which was a big hit. A series of hits soon made Mahesh Babu the heart-throb of Tollywood.
An avid self-help book reader, his favorite is - A New Earth.
A fitness freak, Mahesh Babu runs for about 45 - 50 minutes for 7 1/2 kms everyday.
6' 3" tall Mahesh Babu, married co-star in Vamsi, Namrata Sirodkar on February 10, 2005 after dating for two years. The couple named their son Gautham Krishna.

At the end of February 2011, Mahesh tweeted that he met Maniratnam in Chennai to possibly work with him on a movie project.
In early December 2011, Income Tax raids are reported to have been conducted at the house of Mahesh Babu. The actor was at his house at the time of the raid. The commercial success of his then recent Dookudu would have been the reason that prompted the raids.
In December 2011, he said that he will be making 2 to 3 films a year to please his fans. He also wished to act in films of Maniratnam and Shankar. Infact Shankar-Mahesh Babu's Three Idiots was already planned but got postponed because of clash in dates with Dookudu.
Despite achieving stardom with Pokiri, Mahesh Babu considers Dookudu as the biggest hit of his career.
At the success function of the movie Business Man, Ram Gopal Verma termed Mahesh Babu to be on par with Amitabh, with Mahesh modestly rejected.
